Today we particapated in a range of hockey skills.

First we learnt how to hold the hockey stick. The first thing you need to do is to put your left hand and put in on the top of the hockey stick. Then you put your right hand and put it on end of the grip.

Next we learnt how to move the ball side to side. The first thing you need to do is go in the hockey postion and hit the ball lightly and losing your right hand and twisting your left hand.

Then we learnt how to a sweep pass. The first thing you need to do is keeping the ball and the end of the stick and when you are ready to hit the ball you need to drag your hockey with ball and then let the ball go. Then we learnt how to push pass you need to do is keeping the ball at the end of the stick and drag the ball lightly on the ground and let the ball go to the person you want to to.

Lastly we did the compertion it was boys vs girls it was 1 score to both teams. I did not hit the cone because I rushed it.

I enjoyed the activity because I learnt some new skills on a new sports. I did well on passing the ball to my partner. I think I need to improve on making sure I aim at my partner.

We were learning about the importance of using manners.

First we brainstormed as a class and thought as many manners as we could.

Next we wrote down as many manners as we could to make  

Then we took photos to show our manners.

Lastly we put the photos on our poster.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn some manners. I thought I did well on writing down manners. I think I need to improve on saying more manners for the other people so they can feel welcome.

This week we used the continuous and perfect states in sentence

First we wrote down some sentences that show continuous simple and perfect.

Next we took photos of my group showing continuous simple and perfect.

Continuous is something that does not stop.

Simple is something that generally happens

Perfect is a period of time

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn continuous simple and perfect. I did well on thinking about the ideas. I think I need to improve on taking photos.

 

 

 

This week I learnt about the meaning of keywords. Keywords is a word that unlocks the meaning of a sentence.

First we read a book and looked for keywords.

Next we wrote what happened, when it happened, where it happened and who was there. Then we made  a 15 word summary with the keywords we found.

Then we did the same thing for 4 pages.

I enjoyed this activity because we got to learn about the meaning of a keyword. I thought I did well on summarising. I think I need to improve on finding keywords.

Last week we played a game of tic tac toe. To play tic tac toe someone in your team has to run up with a bib and place their bib in the right square. If you want to win you have to make a connect 3 by putting the bibs horizontal, vertical or diagonal 

First my group discussed a strategy to beat the other teams.

Next we played other teams and used our strategies. It worked for 2 rounds

Then we changed it up. We had a helper to coordinate us to put the right bib down in the right square.

I enjoyed this activity because it was competitive and I like competitive games. I think I need to improve on making smart decisions and also timing when to run.

I learnt number sequence from 100 up to 10000.

First we played a game to get our brains running.

Next I generated a number from 100 to 10000.

Then I made a video saying the number before and after. Then writing the number in words. 

Lastly we repeated that 5 times.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt the number sequence from 100 up to 10000.
