I learnt basic facts boxes.
First I practised my basic facts with a friend.
Next I ordered the additional problems and played a game and see if I can complete the problems fast.
I enjoyed this task because it was easy to learn my basic facts. I need to improve on solving the problems. I did well on typing fast.
I learnt how to write a cloze.
First I grabbed the cloze All About Giraffes. I connected the words in the blank spot.
Next I wrote the words down in my book.
Then I checked my answers to see if i was correct.

Making connections means finding a connections with the book to the world, Self or text. text to self is connecting a part in book to something that the reader has done. For example in the book the three little pigs the pig built a stick house and the wolf would blow the house down so I used to build stick houses and my brother would kick the house down.
Text to text is connecting a part of a book to are similar part in another book. For example there is a wolf in the three little pigs and there is a wolf in goldilocks.
Text to world is connecting a part in a book to something that is happening in real life. For example in the book The Highway Rat the people of the village are homeless so in real life there are people that are homeless.
Making connectings means to find a connect with a book to world, Self and text.
