Hockey Skills

We revised some hockey skills.

First we played a game. The game was about a taniwha trying to get your ball. We changed the rules if the taniwha hits the ball with your feet you are out.

We learnt one rule in hockey. If the ball hits you feet it is a penilty.

Next we played a game and did a new skill. The new skill is called dribble dribble push pass. Dribble dribble push pass is when you are moving with the ball and and then you hit the balll to your teammate. The game that we were was about someone yelling a color your teamate has to run to the color and the other teamate has to dribble dribble push pass to teamate.

Laslty we played a game of 4 corner hockey. In this game there are 4 teams and there is one ball in the middle the person who yells out the 2 teams the three people in the line has run and get the ball and hit the ball into their own cone.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to revise some hockey skills that we learnt. I did well on dribble dribble push pass. I need to improve on controlling the ball.

 

Commanding Converstion

We learned about Commanding Conversation.

First I pick a picture that was good for the conversation.

Then I wrote down the conversation between the two characters.

Next I wrote down the sentences so they can explain what’s happeninig in the picture.

Last I did the commanding conversation.

I enjoyed it because i got to make the whole commanding conversation.  I did really good at writing  because it was a normal conversation.  I need to make my writing more challenging

Place Value

I learnt about the place value houses

First we played a game called around the world.

Then we chose a random number to 1000. We had to find out how many tens are in all the numbers. Then we found out how many tens are in all the number

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn about place value. I think I need to improve on moving to the left. I did well on my number bonds.

Relationships

Today we learned to identify characteristics of a good team member.

First we defined what are characteristics. Characteristics are actions you want to be for example brave is a  characteristics.

Next we drew a body outline, So we could put the positive words inside the body and then  put negative words on the outside of the body.

Then we played a game of moon ball. We played the game to see if we were using the characteristics on our paper. We Identify action and factor that can prevent a team from working cooperatively

We enjoyed this activity because we learnt some characteristics. We did well naming some characteristics. We think I need to work on communicating with each other.

Quadrefoil

Today I learnt about an art called a quatrefoil made by Max Gimblit.

First to make a quatrefoil digitally you have to make a line horizontally until the red line shows up and make a line vertically until the red line shows up again.

Next you have to make 4 circles and align the lines and make them a little bit big.

Then you have to delete the lines and make the quatrefoil look good 

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt that Max Gimblit makes art and sells them for lots of money. I did well on making my quatrefoil. I think I need to improve on making a decision on which way I want to put my quatrefoil.

 

Simple Sentence

We learnt how to write simple sentences.

First we looked at some sentences and saw if it was a verb, object or a subject.

Next we learnt what a simple sentence is. A simple sentence includes a verb, subject and an object.

Then we looked at verb tenses.

Lastly we wrote sentences with objects, subjects and verbs.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn what a simple sentence is. I did well on figuring out what is a verb, object and a subject. I think I need to improve on writing my sentence because I kept on using ‘ing’.

 

 

 

Prior Knowledge

We learnt to make a connecton bewteen a text and our prior knowlegde.

First we talked about what we already know about drums and the pasific.

Next we found out the definations of words that will be in the text.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to learn about the diffrerent kind of drums. I think I need to improve on trying to answer more of                 the questions.  I did well on sharing my ideas.

 

 

Place Value

We learnt number bonds from 10 to 1000.

First we played a game to get the idea of a number bond.

Next we took place value blocks and showed number bonds from 10 to 1000.

Lastly we made 3 posters. The first poster was number bonds up to 10. The next poster was up to 100. The final poster was up to 1000.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt my number bonds up to 10 to 1000. I thought I did well the game that we played. I think I need to improve on making sure I het faster at saying my numbers bond.

Hockey

Today we particapated in a range of hockey skills.

First we learnt how to hold the hockey stick. The first thing you need to do is to put your left hand and put in on the top of the hockey stick. Then you put your right hand and put it on end of the grip.

Next we learnt how to move the ball side to side. The first thing you need to do is go in the hockey postion and hit the ball lightly and losing your right hand and twisting your left hand.

Then we learnt how to a sweep pass. The first thing you need to do is keeping the ball and the end of the stick and when you are ready to hit the ball you need to drag your hockey with ball and then let the ball go. Then we learnt how to push pass you need to do is keeping the ball at the end of the stick and drag the ball lightly on the ground and let the ball go to the person you want to to.

Lastly we did the compertion it was boys vs girls it was 1 score to both teams. I did not hit the cone because I rushed it.

I enjoyed the activity because I learnt some new skills on a new sports. I did well on passing the ball to my partner. I think I need to improve on making sure I aim at my partner.
