Board Game – Maths

LI: To create a maths board game using maths strategy.

In this activity we created a maths board game and used different strategy. Our game is Snakes and Ladders but instead if Snakes and Ladders it uses Arrows and Rulers. The rules that we have set is when going up the ladders you will have to subtract the amount your going up. Eg: 84 – 28 = 56 and that means your going 56 blocks up, When going down you have to subtract the amount of how much your going down. Eg: 94 – 75 = 19 which means your going down 19 blocks. To play this game you will need to use your knowledge of subtraction, algorithm and number knowledge. These strategies will help you beat your opponents and win prizes. Before this game is finished we have to play the game with other people. The challeging bit about this is that not copyrighting other games

I enjoyed this activity because I created a maths game about different math stratergies.

Exploring AI in Writing

LI: To write a narrative from an AI prompt

In this activity we learnt about Al using Papyrus AI. This webstite generates story’s using predictions/prompts. Taking the information from what we wrote it gives us suggestion to make our story stronger. We used the prompts of 2 fairytales, The Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White and combined them to make an amazing story. I really enjoyed that I could get help for Papyrus AI. A suggestion that I would recommend is the feedback kept on changing everytime.

Snow White, The Little Red Riding Hood and The Evil Mother

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Snow who lived in a bright castle next to a forest. Snow had a strange eerie feeling that something bad was going to happen. Snow lived with her Mother and her Grandmother. The Evil Queen Mother wanted to get revenge on Snow because she was the reason the King was gone. The Evil Queen was forcing Snow into talking to strangers so that she could be kidnapped and banished in a cage for eternity. On the other side of the forest lived a girl named Little Red Riding Hood who lived an opposite life to Snow. She lived on the dark and damp side of the forest, with tall trees surrounding the house, making the atmosphere very dark and gloomy.

One day, The Evil Queen sent Snow to ask strangers for directions to the nearest shop. Meanwhile, in the distance was a large silhouette of The Big Bad Wolf. On the other side of town, Little Red Riding Hood was heading to the exact same shop as Snow because she was buying special apples for her Grandmother, who was sick. Snow made it to the shop, noticing that the cashier was suspiciously weird. He had big sharp teeth, long and frightening nails, and an unusual smell. The cashier told Snow to come to the back to see if he had what she needed. Little Red Riding Hood entered the shop, saw Snow, and decided to follow her. As Snow and Little Red Riding Hood reached the back, the cashier revealed himself to be the Wolf. The Wolf kidnapped both of them and took them to a hidden location. Both of them felt scared, frightened, and anxious about what might happen next.

While Snow and Red Riding Hood were kidnapped, The Evil Queen had been celebrating her victory. Snow’s Grandmother could not sit back and watch her granddaughter be banished forever, so she recruited Red Riding Hood’s Mother to help find Snow and Red Riding Hood. “How can we find them?” said Red Riding Hood’s Mother. “Lucky for us, the Wolf left a trail,” replied the Grandmother. The Mother and the Grandmother followed the tracks of the Wolf until it led to a cottage house. The Mother and Grandmother opened the door to find a Wolf dressed up like a Grandma. The Grandma told The Mother and The Grandmother to come closer. They came too close, and then the Big Bad Wolf swallowed them. A Woodcutter walked past, heard the screams, and burst through the door. He saw The Big Bad Wolf and flipped the Wolf upside down, making it spit out The Mother, Grandmother, Snow, and Red Riding Hood. Everyone felt relieved that they weren’t swallowed. Confusion went around because the Woodcutter was gone. Little did everyone know that the Woodcutter chased the Evil Mother and the Wolf out of the city, never to be seen again.

Finally, The moral of this story is to not talk to strangers.

After a long time of placing dots and connecting the dots I found out that the secret drawing was a helicopter. I didn’t know what it was at first because I had my paper upside down but then my friend told me to turn it around and then it revealed the secret image.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt how to use number and coordinates to find a secret image.

We found out that 8 people have pets and 11 don’t have pets so we found out that more kids in LS2 have no pets. I also found out that most of the students have dogs.

I enjoyed this activity because I used statistics to find out how many students have pets
